Park City Summer Activities

HomePark City Summer Activities

Located in the heart of the Wasatch Mountains within the Rocky Mountain Range, Park City is a year-round destination for outdoor adventure. From scenic drives to epic climbs to balloon rides, Park City summer activities reward you with scenery beyond expectations.

While Park City is world-famous for its ski slopes, it goes way beyond a ski town and has just as much to offer in the warm months. Park City summers are near perfect with temperatures reaching the low 80s during the afternoon and dipping into the 40s and 50s at night.

There are so many things to do in Park City Utah in summer, so get ready to go exploring the trails, fishing, golfing, and enjoying refreshing lake activities!

Fly Fishing

The Provo River and the Weber River are prime spots for fly-fishing in the Park City area. Offering world-class waters, Provo River is the most popular spot for fly-fishing, and you can get to it easily from our vacation rental homes. The pristine waters feature brown and rainbow trout in record lengths and more than 3,000 trout per mile in some parts of the river. Weber River is another popular spot for fly-fishing, and it tends to have few crowds and some of the biggest trout in the state. Both of these rivers are Blue Ribbon fisheries.

Kayaking and Paddlesports

Go kayaking and paddleboarding in Park City at Jordanelle State Park, as well as sections of Provo and Weber rivers. The Jordanelle Reservoir and State Park are just about 15 minutes away from Park City, and it is one of the most scenic spots for paddle sports in the area. If you’re paddling the Jordanelle Reservoir, visit the Rock Cliff where you’ll find incredible views and maybe even local wildlife.

Rafting

Looking for more of a thrill on the water? White water rafting on the Weber River is a fun adventure for the whole family (children as young as 4 can go on this tour). Weber River is a Class II River and is the highest-rated river in the Park City region. Prepare to get splashed and have a blast. Book an excursion through us to get out on the water for an afternoon you won’t forget.

Hiking

From beginner trails for all ages to strenuous climbs overlooking scenic vistas, Park City boasts hiking and biking trails for any skill level. View alpine lakes, wildflowers, Aspen groves, wildlife, and more while out on the trails within the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, Jordanelle State Park, and beyond. Hikers should visit Donut Falls, Basin Recreation Millennium, Bloods Lake, Bonanza Flat, or Round Valley Way.

Mountain Biking

The Park City region and the entire state of Utah is a premier mountain biking destination with world-class trails. Ranked as a Golf-Level Ride Center, Park City boasts more than 450 miles of single-track trails for beginners and extreme riders alike. Visit a few of our favorite mountain biking trails such as the Holy Roller, Lost Prospector, Flying Dog, and Mid-Mountain Trail. Park City Mountain Resort and Deer Valley Resort both offer miles of mountain bike trails. Prime biking season runs from May to September, depending on snowfall.

Hot Air Balloon Rides

Take to the sky to see the most incredible views of Park City you may ever witness. Hot air balloons offer a unique perspective of Utah’s Rocky Mountain Range and the unbelievable landscape throughout the region. Join a shared flight or secure a private flight to float in a hot air balloon just as the sun begins to rise. We promise it’s the best way to start the day.

Summertime Resorts

Our resorts are open year-round for added summer adventures. The Park City Mountain Adventure Park is ready to be explored after the iconic blankets of snow have melted. Go on a scenic lift ride, the alpine slide, mountain coaster, and zip line, plus there are miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. Families will love the 18-hole mini-golf course, while the golf pros in your group can hit the fairways at the 18-hole, par-72 Canyons Golf Course. Need a little R&R?
