Hit the Ski and Snowboard Slopes

Get your skis and snowboard out of the closet and head to the slopes! You can make use of the very end of the ski season by getting the last of the bright white snow and cruising on some fresh powder. After the springtime, it is hiking all summer long — so make sure you get in the last Black Diamond run and feel the breeze against your face. There are tons of resorts in the Park City area, such as Park City Mountain, that are perfect for skiers and snowboarders of all levels.

Don’t Forget to Enjoy Après Ski

No day on the slopes is complete without après ski! Head to one of the local bars and restaurants to get a nice hot cup of cocoa, ice-cold beer, or a fresh glass of wine to celebrate the sunny and snowy day on the pristine mountain. We recommend going to one of the numerous bars, pubs, restaurants, or lounges just a few steps away from Park City Mountain. Some of our favorites include Drafts Sports Bar and Grill for watching the big game, sipping on some ice-cold beer, and having a tasty burger. Or, you can go to the Umbrella bar to sit outside, feel the sun on your face, and warm up after being on the cold mountain. Another favorite spot is the Corner Store for sitting outside on the large patio and eating your meal al fresco.

Head to Downtown for the Most Fun Events in Park City

Spring is one of the best times for you to walk around the historic downtown area of Park City! In the summer, it is too hot to spend the peak time outdoors. During the winter, it might be too cold. However, during the spring, there are fewer people, and the weather is perfect for walking along the street, going shopping, popping in and out of cafes, and bringing back souvenirs for your best friends. We recommend going to one of the hundreds of bars and restaurants on Main Street to try the local cuisine. The No Name Saloon is one of the best spots to kick off a fun night!

Check Out Utah Olympic Park

The Olympic Park is an Olympic training and competition area held in Park City that serves as the annual training ground for sports of all kinds. The best athletes from around the country come here to train and prepare for the big event every four years! Plus, the park is open to visitors who are interested in seeing the high-performance facilities and the towering ski slopes and jumps. During your time here, bring your kids to the Eccles Winter Olympic Museum or the Alf Engen Ski History Museum to learn more about the history of the Olympics and those who hail from Utah.

Experience the Fun at Spring Gruv and Compete in the Pond Skimming Competition

Spring Gruv at Park City Mountain Resort will be taking place from March 23rd to April 7th. For 16 days there will be daily family activities and live music along with free concerts every Saturday. This exciting event also includes the 23rd Annual Pond Skimming Competition! You can attempt to cross the 100 ft pond or just come and watch others make the attempt. Either way, you won’t regret attending this competition!

Watch a Concert at the Kimball Art Center

Last but not least, going to the Kimball Art Center is one of the coolest things to do during the spring vacation in Park City, Utah. Park City, Utah is known for its ample outdoor activities, like hiking, skiing, biking, walking, and water sports that people take part in all year long. But what happens if you visit Park City during a rare rainy spell — what now? The good thing about this incredibly beautiful and serene natural area is that there are so many things to do in Park City, both indoor and outdoor, that tourists can always find something to do no matter the weather.

Watch a Movie

One of the best things to do on a rainy or cold day is to stay in and watch a movie, right? Well, we think that one of the top things to do when it is rainy or blustery in park city is to head to the Park City Film Series to watch a feature length film that is going to brighten your spirits and get rid of those rain clouds. Cozy up with a big bowl of popcorn and a soda to split with your friend and check out one of Park City’s many movie theaters run by the Film Series. Whether you like a good comedy or you are in the mood for a rom com, there is always something for everyone!

Hit the Shops

Another fun thing to do during a rainy or cold day is to check out the numerous shops that frequent the downtown area of Park City. You can go shopping for niche items or see if you can find some souvenirs to bring home for your friends who are at home. We love going to the numerous boutiques for high-end items, going shopping for vintage clothing on Historic Main Street, or getting a great deal on some brand-name clothes at the Outlets at Park City

Get a Filling Brunch!

There is no shortage of breakfast and brunch spots in Park City that will make you full for the rest of the day and rave about savory eggs or sweet French Toast for your entire vacation! Some of our favorites are right in the downtown area, so you can easily walk here on foot from your handy accommodation.

One of our top choices is The Eating Establishment, a down-home diner that has been a Park City staple for 50 years! We love the breakfast sandwich on a brioche bun with garlic aioli, corned beef hash and eggs skillet with fried onions, or the biscuits and gravy to fill you up before you go shopping in the rainy weather. If you are in the mood for something sweet, the wide choice of pancakes and French toast is perfect for those who want something a little dessert-like to start the day!

At The Bridge Cafe and Grill, you can get no-fuss plates for a low price that is perfect for a quick breakfast or a filling brunch with the family. We love breakfast staples like the Brazuca omelet with your choice for five fillings, pancakes with powdered sugar and whipped butter, Cristo Redentor with ham and cheese, or the Brioche Breakfast with scrambled eggs, strong Havarti cheese, and fresh avocado.

We also love going to Five5eeds during our vacations in Park City. If you are in the mood for something a bit more eclectic and modern, then head here on Snow Creek Drive to try something a little different than the typical eggs and bread dish. We love getting one of the Specials that frequently rotate according to what is in season and available in the area — talk about farm-to-table! One of the most popular dishes right now in the cold weather is the local mushrooms, crispy polenta, and thyme pangrattato with shiitake mushrooms and polenta cake.

If you are in the mood for something light before you go for a hike, you can’t go wrong with ‘The Merperson’ Smoothie Bowl with spirulina, coconut milk, banana granola, coconut flakes, blueberry, and passion fruit. For an all-day breakfast dish that will surely fill you up until dinner, we love the pulled pork benedict with apple cider hollandaise sauce, Shakshuka with Moroccan eggs and feta, or PC Superfood bowl with rice, quinoa, broccolini, beets, and hummus.

A little rain never hurt anybody! At least that’s what we think. Going to Park City at any time of the year is a magical experience, so make sure the weather doesn’t deter your plans. And with ample indoor things to do in Park City, some sprinkles or a full-on storm shouldn’t derail your vacation. We love going shopping, checking out the indoor cultural attractions, learning about the local history at museums, and eating hearty brunches during our stay in Utah.

That’s right, we are thinking of a primetime ski and snowboard destination that is perfect for adventurous souls who want to get out on the slopes, go snowshoeing, try your luck at Black Diamond runs, and curl up by the hot fireplace in the evening after a long day of being outside.
