Park City Miners Day 5K and Bark
The Miners’ Day Park City 5K isn’t just a great way to get in your steps for the day and feel good about yourself, but it is such a fun way to kick off the morning of the famous Miners’ Day in Park City! Lace up your running shoes, pull on your favorite pair of running shorts, put on some sunscreen, and head to the downtown area to start your morning off in a wholesome way. The Miners’ Da Bark City 5K is also for a good cause, so you can feel good about yourself and your donation this holiday weekend. You can meet the furry friends who you are helping from nearby animal rescue organizations and receive a finisher’s medal that your kids are sure to love!
Plus, you never have to worry about bringing a map or losing the crowd — the course is very well-marked and brings a sense of community that you won’t find in many other races. This self-timed race is great for those who want to try and get their best 3.2-mile time or for those who just want to go for a nice morning walk with their friends. Head to the Miners’ Hospital in Park City to run along the historic Rail Trail and start the holiday weekend in a healthy way!
Grand Oktoberfest Weekend
Oktoberfest is a great excuse to hang out with your friends, drink tons of beer, and spend quality time with your loved ones. Put on your best lederhosen, enjoy a bratwurst hot dog, and take a few sips (or stein) of crisp beer to cool off after a long hike in the nearby mountains. Oktoberfest at Snowbird Mountain is not only good for adults, but it is a great family-friendly event that offers tons of German food, like hot dogs, bratwurst, and pretzels, drinks, like ice-cold beer, and activities that are suitable for people of all ages.
This festival starts in the middle of August and continues late into October, making it the ideal fall activity for those who want to enjoy a European-themed weekend with their pals. Plus, you can enjoy live music on the Oktoberfest Halle Entertainment from 12 pm to 6 pm, Chickadee Stage from 2-5 pm, and Alphorns at Hidden Peak at 3 pm.

Fourth of July Celebration
There is no better reason to go away for the weekend than to celebrate the Fourth of July! We love this holiday for patriotism, bright colors, good vibes, and a family-friendly atmosphere.
The Fourth of July celebrations here in Park City are second to none, featuring a large pancake and coffee breakfast that is sure to give you enough fuel for the entire day, 5k to help burn off some of those breakfast calories, and parade so I can see the people who make the community what it really is, sports tournaments to bring out your inner athlete, live music to dance along all day long, and an afternoon barbecue with some of the tastiest sandwiches you will ever have!
Whether you are staying in one of our cabins right in the heart of the town or up in the mountains, we recommend coming to the city for activities and the parade on Main Street. Afterward, you can continue your day of nature exploring, such as horseback riding, hiking, biking, and much more.
Friday Gallery Strolls
The last Friday of every month is the Gallery Stroll from 6 PM – 9 PM. This takes place along the historic main street of Park City and participating galleries will roll out the “red carpet” for you to come check out their work. It will be an evening of art, food, drinks, and music with beautiful views of this beautiful town. So if you’re here at the end of the month during the summer (or actually any month of the year) you’re sure to enjoy a Gallery Stroll.
Summer Concert Series
Nothing quite says ‘summer’ like live music, family-friendly activities, and good vibes. We love going to the Summer Concert Series at Deer Valley to listen to the Utah Symphony Orchestra and marvel at the beauty of the Snow Park outdoor Amphitheater. This outdoor amphitheater is built right into the mountain, so you will be able to marvel at this unique architecture and open-air space that is one of the most unique concert venues you will ever attend.
Park Silly Sunday Market
Are you interested in purchasing some fresh produce, checking out local vendors, and spending time with your families? If so, head to the Park Silly Sunday Market! We love this farmer’s market that has nearly 200k visitors every single year; this event features dozens of vendors, bright sunshine, good vibes, and fresh produce that we like for making dinner in your modern kitchen. This event runs every Sunday during the summer months from 10 am to 5 pm.
The Kimball Arts Festival
If you come to Park City during the later summer months, you will be able to attend the Kimball Arts Festival in early August. This is one of the events in Park City that has been going on for over 50 years, featuring local artwork, artists, and unique sculptures that will make you feel like a real-life art critic. We love how the festival features access to numerous events, such as the kid’s art and play area, live music venues, The Art Starts Here Gala, The Studio on Main, and The Festival After Dark.
Labor Day
Last but not least, savor the last minutes of summer with a Labor Day celebration! We love coming to Park City for this famous holiday with the numerous activities, fun outdoor things to do, community events, and much more. Attend the early morning pancake breakfast, costume 5k fun run, and view the adrenaline-pounding Running of the Balls. Yes, you heard that right! This fun take on words features thousands of gold balls that roll down the hill of Park City.
If your golf ball gets first, you win! You can then attend the outdoor parade, check out the family-friendly games, watch the skating competition, and ogle at the mucking and drilling competition — after all, it IS called Miner’s Day here in Park City!

Hit the Ski and Snowboard Slopes
Get your skis and snowboard out of the closet and head to the slopes! You can make use of the very end of the ski season by getting the last of the bright white snow and cruising on some fresh powder. After the springtime, it is hiking all summer long — so make sure you get in the last Black Diamond run and feel the breeze against your face. There are tons of resorts in the Park City area, such as Park City Mountain, that are perfect for skiers and snowboarders of all levels.
Don’t Forget to Enjoy Après Ski
No day on the slopes is complete without après ski! Head to one of the local bars and restaurants to get a nice hot cup of cocoa, ice-cold beer, or a fresh glass of wine to celebrate the sunny and snowy day on the pristine mountain. We recommend going to one of the numerous bars, pubs, restaurants, or lounges just a few steps away from Park City Mountain. Some of our favorites include Drafts Sports Bar and Grill for watching the big game, sipping on some ice-cold beer, and having a tasty burger. Or, you can go to the Umbrella bar to sit outside, feel the sun on your face, and warm up after being on the cold mountain. Another favorite spot is the Corner Store for sitting outside on the large patio and eating your meal al fresco.
Head to Downtown for the Most Fun Events in Park City
Spring is one of the best times for you to walk around the historic downtown area of Park City! In the summer, it is too hot to spend the peak time outdoors. During the winter, it might be too cold. However, during the spring, there are fewer people, and the weather is perfect for walking along the street, going shopping, popping in and out of cafes, and bringing back souvenirs for your best friends. We recommend going to one of the hundreds of bars and restaurants on Main Street to try the local cuisine. The No Name Saloon is one of the best spots to kick off a fun night!
Check Out Utah Olympic Park
The Olympic Park is an Olympic training and competition area held in Park City that serves as the annual training ground for sports of all kinds. The best athletes from around the country come here to train and prepare for the big event every four years! Plus, the park is open to visitors who are interested in seeing the high-performance facilities and the towering ski slopes and jumps. During your time here, bring your kids to the Eccles Winter Olympic Museum or the Alf Engen Ski History Museum to learn more about the history of the Olympics and those who hail from Utah.

Either way, you won’t regret attending this competition!
